No need to visit bank branches to update KYC
Bank account holders are no longer required to visit their bank branches to update ‘know your customer’ (KYC) details provided they have already submitted valid documents and not changed their address, RBI said in a circular earlier this year.

What RBI says
Instead, if there is no change in KYC information, the customers can submit a self-declaration through email-id, registered mobile number, ATMs, or any other digital channels.

How to do re-KYC
RBI also issued the guidelines for re-KYC. Here’s how you can do re-KYC.

As per the HDFC Bank website
Step 1: You will get a notification from the bank or financial institution to update your KYC information. Once you do, fill out the re-KYC form.

Follow here
Step 2: Next, you need to self-attest documents that function as identity and residence proof. You can check the website of the bank to know which documents can be submitted to prove your identity and address.

And it’s done
Step 3: Once you complete your bit of the KYC procedure, it takes around ten days for the process to be completed in its entirety.

No need to worry
“With three easy steps, you can ensure that you comply with RBI guidelines and update your KYC information to continue using financial products and services that make your life easier,” as per HDFC Bank.
